Sarah Manguso will speak on her memoir The Two Kinds of Decay (FSG, 2008) on October 29, 2008 at noon in the Browsing Room of Neilson Library.
"With spare, precise prose, gallows humor, and piercing observation, Manguso seizes and artfully organizes shards of memories of paralysis, breathlessness, extreme pain, and terror ... an indelible meditation on remembering what one longs to forget."
Kera Bolonik, Barnes & Noble Spotlight
The event is sponsored by the Anthropology Department, the Jacobson Center’s “Working Writers” series, the Five College Program in Culture, Health and Science, the American Studies Department, the Dean of the College and the Lecture Committee. Light refreshments will be provided. The lecture is open to the entire community.
