Anthro Club

Welcome to

The Smith College Anthropology Club, which became an officially chartered organization in Fall 2006, is a student-run, student-governed organization which has the goals of:

  • providing a place for those interested in the field of anthroplogy to gather and discuss isses in anthropology and to learn more about the field of anthropology, bringing faculty and students together, and hosting lectures and events that bring awareness to the Smith community of anthropology and its many functions.
  • providing resources for anthropology students and those in the larger Smith community who have an interest in anthropology, so that information is readily available on topics such as (but not limited to):  graduate study programs, internships, careers, and personal development in the field of anthropology.
  • forging connections with the Departments of Anthropology and students in the Five College Consortium and creating avenues for increased collaboration between Smith and other Five College students.

to learn more about us and to get involved!  Officer positions are available, and spring elections are coming up soon!  Additionally, we're planning on doing a number of awesome activities including:

  • ethnographic film nights and discussions
  • Five College Anthropology Conference
  • contribute to choosing new professors for the deaprtment
  • anthropological research lecture seires
  • future-anthropologists help panels
  • issues in anthropology discussions

so come, learn more about how you can participate in all those awesome opportunities, and contribute your own ideas for activities and events!
