"When I graduated, I did not know my degree in American Studies would be used and could be used. I was one of those people who did not know what to major in because I had an interest in all of the Humanities. This is why the American Studies Program was so attractive to me. My degree has been useful in my first year of law school. As a first year law student at Vanderbilt University my degree has been extremely useful. A degree in American Studies gives you the ability to analyze and address the rough issues. When my class was discussing feminist theory and its effects in the law, I had a background and perspective that was an advantage. Since the American Studies Program is so interdisciplinary, whatever you choose to do you will find yourself relying on the information you learned in class." |
