The Association for Latin American Art Dissertation Award

The Association for Latin American Art is pleased to announce the biennial award for an outstanding doctoral dissertation in the field of Latin American visual culture.

Dissertations on any aspect of the visual culture of Latin America deposited between June 1, 2008 and June 1, 2010 are eligible for the next award (to be given in February 2011). Dissertations may be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese; languages other than these three may be considered, with prior consultation with the chair of the award committee.

Nominations in the form of a letter describing the dissertation's contribution to the field should be sent by September 30, 2010, to the chair of the award committee. Please include the nominee's current contact information. Neither nominee nor nominator need be a member of the Association of Latin American Art. Self- nominations are not accepted. Should the nominees be deemed eligible, they will have until October 30, 2010, to submit three copies of their dissertation to the committee. Nomination letters should be sent to:
