In a traditional reception at the President's House honoring alumnae celebrating their 50th reunion, classmates gathered underneath the tent to share their lives and to listen to words of congratulations from acting president John Connolly. Susan Porth '70, president of the Alumnae Association, thanked the class for their generous support of the Alumnae Fund and for shattering a 19-year record for class participation, which jumped from 87 percent to 97 percent in the final two weeks, thanks to the diligent efforts of class volunteers who called, wrote, and e-mailed their 423 classmates to generate support.

Congratulations to Edith LaCroix Dabney and her fellow volunteers for creating a successful reunion book, memorable events, and a record-breaking show of support for Smith.
