Since we are fully enrolled, we are not accepting applications for January 2013.
Are you still looking for the right college experience? Do you still search for a college environment that will give you academic challenge, comfortable residential housing and plenty of contact with your professors and fellow students? Then consider joining the Smith College community.
Each year, more than one hundred transfer students enter Smith. While many colleges and universities consider transfer applicants only after the first-year class is selected, Smith reserves a number of places especially for transfers because we believe they enrich our community. Every January some 20 to 30 transfer students arrive at Smith while another 80 join our classes each September. They come after having completed at least one semester at any of a variety of institutions, including four-year private and public colleges and universities, community and junior colleges, and international institutions.
Although every transfer student has her own reasons for leaving one school for another, students who transfer to Smith have much in common: an interest in academic excellence, strong motivation and self-discipline, an adventurous spirit, promising secondary school records and solid college records in liberal arts courses. Once they're here, transfers tend to develop another bond: a high level of satisfaction with their experience at Smith College.
