| | It has started to get a bit cold here in Northampton. The lights along Main Street give a warm glow that flows across the town as the holidays draw near, and students begin to think about final exams and papers. They also are thinking about making flight plans home, and packing up the belongings that they will take with them. Many are also deciding what class or two they will take over the J-term to keep their minds ticking between semesters, and to pick up a credit or two. The squirrels on campus are getting fatter, and at times the wind whips around campus on a mission of spreading the cold as far as it can into my body. It is lovely to see students arrive at class, with tousled hair and color in their cheeks! (It reminds me of Chicago, where it certainly gets much, much colder!)
Well, we are down to the last two weeks of classes. I am lucky this semester to be able not to have to deal with finals week, as most of my work will be completed by then. There is nothing that I hate more than having a final exam. I am thankful that I will be able to take time to clean my house and pack in an organized fashion for our trip to Chicago for the Christmas break.for two weeks of it anyway. It will be fun to be back in the big city, and I cant wait to ride the Blue Line again. I do miss the hustle and bustle of the city, the people, and the stores, hearing the trains as they wind themselves around the city, and it will be nice to be back there amongst it all. Of course, catching up with family and friends will be wonderful, too.
Here at the Admissions Office, the applications are coming in and there is a steady hum all over the office. If you are a prospective Ada, I hope that you received my newsletter. Please remember that an interview is required, the deadline for which is February 1st, 2009. Just give the Admission Office a call to set up a time. When you know your arrival date on campus, drop me email before you arrive and we can arrange to meet for coffee or lunch while you are here. I would love to meet you!
I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving, and that you had a chance to sit back and relax for a while with your loved ones. Good luck with the end of your semesters! And always feel free to contact me with any questions.
