My name is Lucha and I'm from Houston, Texas. I am currently a sophomore. I live in Northrop house which is located on Elm st. In my first month or two at Smith I was really homesick! But, I eventually made friends and figured out that Smith has so much to offer. I am in a program called AEMES which is for underrepresented students in the sciences. It was so helpful in my transition into college. The program showed me that people are always around to help such as professors and students. I also joined Nosotras where I met some girls that were also from Houston. They really made a difference because they were always there to talk but also brought me along with them to places and events.
I am currently taking pre-med courses. My teachers are great and are always there to help. My favorite class would have to be Chemistry. The department is fantastic!
In my spare time I go to parties at Smith and the other schools.Or I hang out with my house. We play intramurals and have tea together every friday. I am really glad I came here! |
