| | It's so hard to believe that the semester is almost half way over! It really seems like I've only been back for a couple of weeks but, looking back, a lot has happened since winter break! These past two weekends alone have been pretty hectic. Last weekend, the Smith orchestra played in this huge concert of Carmina Burana with the Smith glee club, Yale glee club, and WPI men's glee club. It was really amazing and Carmina Burana is a super intense piece (it's used in commercials a lot). This past weekend, I also got to see the play that one of my friends was in called "A Bright Room Called Day." She was a character that is completely different from her personality so it was fun for us all to see her acting skills!
Right now, we're all counting down the days until spring break and finishing up the numerous midterms that come with this time of year. Another thing that all of my sophomore friends and I are talking about right now is study abroad. We all had to pass in our "Plan of Study" to the study abroad office about a month ago and are eagerly awaiting Smith's approval for the programs we want to do. Smith does this just to make sure that the people who are going abroad have enough credits, etc. so hopefully things will work out! It is really fun to talk about and compare where you're going with other people, although I know it will be hard to leave Smith! One of the things I've really noticed throughout this whole process is how open Smithies are to sharing their experiences abroad! All of their advice made me FINALLY decide that I will be going to Chile during Spring '09. Hopefully it will be great!
Another exciting event is that we'll be starting intramural kickball soon! House competitions like this are always so much fun and so funny because everyone is there to have a good time. We even have team shirts and a team cheer that we say before every game: "Park House Crushes All!" |
