 Sunny weather

March 29, 2009

Well Smith has finally reached the Spring. For the past two days it has been warm and sunny. Perfect hanging out outside, pretending to do homework but actually napping, weather. As you can guess, I spent the last two days lounging about on a blanket out on Chapin Lawn, and by no means was I alone. The warm weather brings Smith to life. There are tons of people sitting outside reading, eating lunch, or simply sun bathing. Yesterday we could hear the cheering from the softball game on the athletic field all over campus. And, there are finally flowers! Right before Spring Break was the bulb show, with lots of beautiful flowers, all indoors. This week, the flowers are finally showing their heads outdoors. At the back of the John M. Green concert hall there are tons of tiny crocuses popping out in a variety of colors. All the snow is melted, and the grass is returning to its bright green color. There are so many bright new colors all around campus, and the smell of recent rain and Spring is abounding. I love Smith all the time, but the Spring is certainly my favorite.
