| | This week was one of my favorite Smith traditions: big sib-little sib. Nearly every house on campus has a week toward the beginning of the first semester of the year when upperclassmen and new students in the house are matched up. The upperclassmen - big sibs - leave cards and presents outside their little sibs' doors all throughout the week. At the end of the week there is a big house dinner where the big sibs are revealed to their little sibs. It's a really fun way to meet other people in the house (and get little presents!) All week long a good friend and I left presents outside a first year's door - a little elephant, Sweedish fish, a CD, cherry pie, and a coloring book. Tonight we had our house dinner and she was SO surprised it was us. It was really nice to see the whole house sitting around the living room - eating and bonding. Later tonight my little sister and my co-big sib will play scrabble and eat some of that cherry pie. But first I should get some work done for tomorrow... |
