 Schoolwork Took over my Life

March 23, 2009

It has been an uneventful semester thus far, A LOT OF WORK. So much that it is killing me. I have a ton of reading and papers; Schoolwork took over my life. I shouldn't even be doing this right now. But I am = )

Lets see. What has happened? Sexhibition was a few weeks ago. This event occurs once a year and includes and exhibit and dance/party. The exhibit is a gallery of pictures of Smith students (and this year it also included townspeople/local artists), usually in the nude or however naked you can be and still be comfortable. It exhibits that nudity and sexuality are beautiful, in all shapes, sizes, forms, etc. Last year it portrayed Smithies doing normal things that Smithies do, but naked. This year it included some pictures like that, and a variety other themes. There were also more artistic pieces, such as paintings and sculptures and some that looked professionally done (except with real/normal looking girls/women- not porn stars or models). My friends and I didn't go to the party because we had a lot of homework to do, but we did go to the exhibit. My friend Lily had modeled and we wanted to see her pictures. It was actually very beautiful and moving. I definitely plan on posing next year.

On March 2nd, for the first time in like 21 years (or something like it), Smith cancelled classes due to "inclement weather." It was perfect. My friend Sara walked into my room at 7:30 in the morning on a Monday and said "SMITH CANCELLED CLASS." Then I said, "SHUT UP, YOU'RE LYING." I checked my email and she was not lying, Smith had in fact cancelled class. So then I ran into 5 of my friends rooms to wake them up, tell them to shut their alarm clocks off, and go back to sleep. But, I told them that as soon as we were all up, we were going sledding. So around noon, we got our sleds from the trunk room and drove my car down to the snow lot. Luckily, the snow lot is right next to a GIANT hill, perfect for sledding. We sledded for a few hours. It was freezing and we were soaking wet, but it was soo much fun. Then, we walked back to the house, crossing over paradise pond on foot (the pond melted a few days later, so it was pretty lucky that we didn't fall in). We got out of wet clothes and made hot chocolate, ordered dominoes, and watched ALADDIN. Yes, you read right, ALADDIN. This disney movie. We like disney movies. Unfortunately I got almost NO homework done, but it was an amazing day.

The next month is going to be INTENSE. A lot of school work as the semester (AND MY JUNIOR YEAR) comes to a close. Additionally, I got elected as Comstock's House President next year. This is going to be a big responsibility and the responsibilities start like, NOW. I have meetings and trainings this year and I also have to plan our house's Senior Banquet, which is a big party (dinner, entertainment, costumes) in honor of the seniors in our house. I will tell more about this after it actually occurs, because right now I am only stressing about it as I plan it. It will be so much fun to tell about once it ends.
