Please note: Women who are at least 24 years old (or will turn 24 during their first semester at Smith), have a dependent other than a spouse or are veterans must apply to Smith through the Ada Comstock Scholars Program. If this does not apply to you, please consult the transfer or first-year pages for further information.

Required application materials

Part I Application

On campus interview or a telephone interview if distance makes it impossible to visit campus. Please bring unofficial copies of college transcript(s) to the interview. We do not offer telephone interviews for applicants living outside the United States.

Part II Application

Official college transcript(s). Candidates are expected to present at least 48 liberal arts credits.

Official high school transcript or GED certificate

Reference forms (2)
At least one reference should be from a faculty member who has taught you in a college level class.

Autobiographical essay

Résumé

Midterm evaluation form

Photocopies of course descriptions for all college courses completed and in progress.
