Associate Professor Kevin Everod Quashie received his B.A. in English from Florida International University; an M.A. in higher education administration from Bowling Green State University; and a second M.A. and Ph.D. (both in English) from Arizona State University. He teaches cultural studies and theory, is especially interested in black culture and feminisms since 1970 and is a member of the Women's Studies Program Committee.
Dr. Quashie co-edited the anthology New Bones: Contemporary Black Writers in America, and is author of the book Black Women, Identity, and Cultural Theory: (un) Becoming the Subject. Currently, he is writing a book on the relationship between quiet and black culture.
