BUSTING THE LATEST RUMORS!

Rumor: The dining room that I want to eat lunch and/or dinner at is not a breakfast site; I was told that I cannot get cereal.

Rumor Buster: A selection of cereals will be served at all dining rooms during the meal periods. The committee recognizes that cereal may be a healthy alternative for some meals so it will be available for lunch and dinner in all dining rooms. Comment cards will be available so you can request your favorite cereal.

Rumor: My friends who are vegan won't be able to eat with me in any dining room other than Hubbard.

Rumor Buster: Not true. Some vegan items will be on hand in each dining room, and the salad bar in each dining room will include some non-meat protein items. Hubbard dining room will focus on serving vegan/vegetarian entrees, breads, soup, and dessert items. A vegetarian alternative will be served often in many of the dining locations.

All dining units will feature rice dream and soy milk at all meals; beans, rice, nuts and humus on the salad bars; vegan burgers on request; Stonyfield organic yogurt; and fair trade coffee.

The Asian dining specialty location (Comstock/Wilder ) will also feature some new, interesting choices for all students.

Rumor: The college wasted lots of extra money on fortune cookies just to advertise the 2eat Web site.

Rumor Buster: The fortune cookies were already part of the dinner menu on April 22 and so were not an additional expense. We simply had the 2eat message printed as part of our standard order. We have found that the cookies are a good way to reach a segment of the population who might not otherwise be aware of events on campus and have used them for other situations as well.

Rumor: The proposed plan calls for Hubbard to be the vegan/vegetarian dining room. Will Hubbard be the only dining room offering vegan and vegetarian options?

Rumor Buster: The proposal is to make Hubbard’s entire lunch and dinner menu vegan and vegetarian. However, vegan and vegetarian alternatives will continue to be available in all kitchens, as they are now. For example, every dining room will continue to have a salad bar available during meal times.

Rumor: The 2eat man will no longer be doing the menus on the phone at ext. 2328. Can that be?

Rumor Buster: Absolutely not true. The 2eat man will be right where he always is, at the other end of your phone line. Isn't it reassuring to know that some things never change?
