Disability Services
Services
Library staff will assist patrons in retrieving materials, arranging special loans, making photocopies and more. Ask for assistance at the main service desks in Neilson and the branch libraries or contact the library in advance.
Facilities & Equipment
All library buildings and collections are wheel chair accessible. Other accomodations include:
- Entrance ramps
- Elevators
- Accessible rest rooms
- Photocopiers with enlarging capabilities
- Off-campus access to databases
Adaptive Technology Lab (Neilson Library, Room B/51)
The Adaptive Technology Lab is a joint effort of the Libraries, Smith Disability Services, and Information Technology Services, offering reading tools, screen magnification, voice recognition software, and screen reading software. For authorization to use the lab, please contact Disability Services at (413) 585-2071 (voice or TDD/TTY) or via email at ods@smith.edu. Once you have been authorized to use the lab, you may borrow the key at the Neilson Library Circulation Desk.
